Marie Fidrych

I’m an artist, designer, and educator based in Dracut, Massachusetts. My work is eclectic and always rooted in story, memory, and lived experiences, often with a nod to my Norwegian and folk heritage. I enjoy exploring a wide range of mediums and materials, allowing each idea to find its own form. I also love exploring different materials and different methods of creating, combining textures, and experimenting with processes. I keep one simple motto in mind: “Use what you have to make what you love.” For me, making art is as much about curiosity and discovery as it is about the finished piece.

These three works are connected through ideas of heritage, memory, death, renewal, and the ways we carry pieces of what came before us into what comes next. Each work began with materials that already held a story, and through photography and ceramic work, I explored how those stories can be transformed and given new life.
